WHAT IS HI-FOAM
HI-FOAM is used to convert water and air into foam. HI-FOAM creates dry, stable, small-bubbled foam with a consistency similar to shaving cream. HI-FOAM is made primarily of high foaming surfactants with added wetting and binding agents.
SOLUTION
HI-FOAM's unique dust suppressing foaming formulation developed by RST is used for:
- Crushers
- Transfer points
- Blanket dust suppression
- Stackers
- Conveyor systems
HOW IT WORKS
HI-FOAM functions similarly to liquid spray wet suppression, in that the foamed liquid wets and agglomerates fine particles. The advantages of foam over liquid sprays are improved liquid coverage resulting in lower liquid feed rates and improved fine particle capture which greatly reduces dust levels.
HI-FOAM increases the dust suppressing qualities of water by approximately 8 times.

PERFORMANCE
Improved liquid coverage over the material being treated is achieved by the large increase in liquid surface area of the water created by HI-FOAM. Approximately 1 litre of water injected with HI-FOAM will control dust on material that previously required 8 litres of water to achieve the desired result.
A unique property of HI-FOAM is its ability to 'blanket' a mass of material thereby forming a physical barrier against the dispersion of dust. A properly applied foam barrier stops all dust particles getting airborne and is the preferred method for trapping the fine particles before they get airborne.
APPLICATION
HI-FOAM is used primarily for bulk dust suppression applications. The most common are feed locations at material transfer points and crushing operations. The use of HI-FOAM is advantageous as a way of reducing dust whilst adding minimal moisture to the material ensuring optimum crusher, screening and transfer performance is achieved.
HI-FOAM is applied through purpose designed spray systems as well as through systems that are currently installed. RST will advise on any system modification requirements
