PRODUCT INFORMATION
RT60 is a highly concentrated anionic wetting agent with outstanding wetting performance. By adding RT60 at dosage rates as low as 0.005% to 0.1% the effective wetting properties of water is greatly improved. RT60 can be added to other chemical products to improve solubility, spread rates and penetration. It is generally limited to aqueous solutions with a pH close to 7 but can be used at a much higher or lower pH for short periods - half life at pH 11 is about 4 hours.
Unlike many equivalent products the solvent in RT60 renders it non-flammable. DOSING The addition of RT60 into any water flow is achieved through injection using a small dosing pump such as a "Dosatron" which allows for very accurate dosing of the product at the recommended low dosage rates.
When RT60 is added to the water used to suppress dust through spray nozzle systems it will stop the buildup of scale (calcium) and other forms of grime to pipe work and nozzles through a very fine internal coating being formed.
APPLICATIONS
To improve the dust suppression capabilities of spray nozzle systems.
To reduce the amount of water added to ore during transfer.
To increase water flow through soils, minerals and ore.
To improve the effectiveness of water when used for dust control.
In agriculture and horticulture as a wetting agent to aid dispersion of chemicals, and control of droplet size during spraying.
Additive to water for improved fire fighting efficiency.
SPECIALTY APPLICATIONS
RT60 finds widespread application as a filter aid for use in the mining industry. When added to slurries to be filtered by vacuum filters lower moisture levels in the filter cake can result. The filter cake is also more friable and less blinding of the filter cloth is also observed. Dosage varies on application but a good starting point would be around 30 gm per tonne of solids. This should then be increased until no further improvement is seen. NOTE: If the dose rate is too high foam may be observed in the extracted water.
RT60 is also effective as an additive for acid leaching of copper and uranium,
and cyanidation of gold and silver ores. Its' excellent wetting allows improved penetration of the leaching solution and savings in use of leaching aid.
