DAMSEAL is a blend of high molecular weight polymers that when applied to a dam, seeps into the voids between the soil particles sealing any leaks.
DAMSEAL is applied to full, partially full or empty dams to reduce or eliminate seepage loss.
DAMSEAL can also be applied during dam construction to ensure that no leaks occur after completion.
Most dams have a certain amount of water loss due to seepage so it is recommended that DAMSEAL is applied to all dams to prevent leaks and to conserve water.
APPLICATION
DAMSEAL is applied to dam water by finely sprinkling or broadcasting the granules evenly over the water surface.
For empty dams or during dam construction DAMSEAL can be liquefied and sprayed directly onto the ground to create a sealed surface. Compaction equipment can be used to further enhance the process. Partially full dams require both application methods. DAMSEAL granules spread over the water surface and liquefied DAMSEAL over the exposed banks.
If the leak is greater in a certain area of the dam such as a foot wall it is recommended to concentrate the product around this area.
Once an even application of DAMSEAL is achieved, treated surfaces become water proofed, sealing the dam and reducing water loss.
