Bookings for all events (including Jazz Singers Jam Nights) can be made via our internet booking system. The system provides for on-line payment with your credit card via a secure link to our bank.
In order to function properly, our online ticketing system requires Java, which can be downloaded from the SunJava website
For first-time users of our internet bookings, here are some tips. See also Tricks and Traps below:-
-
Book early to secure your seats
-
When you first go to our booking system, you'll see "SIGN IN" at the top right of the screen. It's best to sign in before you do anything else. If you proceed with a booking before signing in, the system will stop you a few steps later and demand that you sign in anyway.
-
If you haven't signed in before and don't have a password, on the LOGIN side of the page, enter your email address and click "Returning customer, but no password yet?". Chances are we have your email address in the system and it will then send you an email with a link to a page where you can set up a password.
-
If we don't have your email address, you'll need to CREATE NEW ACCOUNT on the right-hand side of the page. BUT...
-
If you are sure we have your email address, or if you are a Club Member, it's best not to create a new account. Contact us and we'll sort it out.
-
If are a Club Member, the system will allow you to buy tickets at member's admission prices. Please be aware, however, that members prices apply only to members, so you will have to pay the non-member price for any non-members who accompany you. Every member will still be required to show a current membership card on entry to the Club.
Note: You cannot book tables inside for groups larger than 8 people. If you are booking for a group of this size, you will need to book space on the deck, using the Special Group Booking Form. See the Groups and Functions page for details.
People who do not have internet access are encouraged to have friends make bookings for them. Alternatively, they can phone us and we will make the internet bookings for them. However, leaving a message on our answering machine does not constitute a booking. It takes us time to go through all our phone messages and if tickets sell out before we get to yours, you will not have a booking. To avoid this, telephone bookings should be made as early as possible.
Here's a view of the new floor plan which you will see when making a booking on-line. Please note that this seating plan is slightly outdated, due to renovations after the Brisbane floods. Tables 51, 52, 55 and 56 are unavailable to book online, but seats at these tables will be available to purchase from 6.30PM each night at the door on a first-in first-served basis. Total group size is 8 people. The Lounge area (Couches 61-65) is also unavailable online and now comprises the band guest table (T19) and standing room with dry bars and ottomans.

Here are some things about our booking system that given rise to disappointment. If you think there are more, please tell us,
-
In the system, there is a nifty little feature where you can click on YOUR VIEW and see photos of the type of seat you have chosen and the view from that seat to the stage. This isn't working properly yet, so don't rely on the photos.
-
Booking is by seat only. If you book 2 seats at, say, a 4-seat table, you can expect to be sharing the table with 2 other people.
-
Seats available for booking will show as yellow dots. Seats not available will show as white circles. If you find that a you can't book a yellow dot, that's usually because you have been beaten to it. That is, some other eager jazz fan has clicked on it in the past few minutes but has not yet finalised the booking. If you try again, say, 10 minutes later, you'll probably find it's been turned into a white circle.
-
You will be expected to sit in the seat you have booked. Sounds obvious, doesn't it, but what we mean is that you can't just sit at any seat at the table. So please note which seats are yours before you close the floor plan.
-
WARNING: Most of our seats are simply chairs placed at tables, but others are in lounges and some on "ottoman foot stools". So, unless you are familiar with the layout of the Club, we suggest you don't book seats in row 6 (tables 61-65) to avoid disappointment. Similarly, we recommend that you don't click BEST AVAILABLE or you might be disappointed with what the system chooses for you.
-
Generally, seats outside on the deck cannot be booked on-line. The marquee area will be held for group bookings (see Groups and Functions ) and outside the marquee, well, we simply cannot guarantee fine weather. However, if, a few days before an event, all inside seats are booked, we may open the outside seating to on-line booking. So, if you do have the option of booking outside seats, please be aware that:-
-
You will have no view of the band (but you will have a postcard view of the Brisbane River and the city by night)
-
You will not be able to hear the band as well as if you were inside. For a big band, that may not matter, but for a quieter group, such as a cool jazz trio, don't expect to hear the finer points of the performance (or sometimes any of it at all!)
-
Don't expect to come inside and just stand while the band is playing, There may not be space for that. So if you book outside, expect to sit outside.

If wheelchair space is required, we will make the necessary arrangements, but it is advisable to book early while there is still space for us to do so. Please phone us (07 3391 2006) to make your booking.
You'll also need to give us some notice so we can arrange wheelchair access to the Club building

Each row is numbered and each table numbered within its row. The first table in row 1 is table 11, the third table in row 5 is table 53 - like room numbers in some hotels.
The floor plan you see when making a booking will always show tables on the dance floor (rows 3 and 4). However, note that, depending on the event, some or all of these tables will not be available for booking. That is because, on the night, those tables will be removed from the floor.
The best example of this is a big band night or any night that is labelled "Dancing", when the dance floor will be cleared of tables (and chairs).

You can book for a group of up to 8 people inside the Club. A word of warning, though. Many of our patrons are serious jazz buffs and come to the Club to listen - and listen intently - to the music. So, if your group wants to chat - as groups of old friends are wont to do - it might be better that you book tables outside, where you can still hear the music but your talk won't conflict with the performance. See our Groups and Functions page for how to book outside.
If you are planning on bringing a group of 9 or more, you will be allocated seats outside on the deck. See our Groups and Functions page for more details.

You can come along without booking, but if you do choose not to book, it's best to turn up early because sometimes there will be standing room only.
If all standing room inside the Club is taken there may be space available on the deck. However, the sound and view of the band is not as good as inside the building.

The only official information on all BJC gigs, admission prices and concessionary rates is published on our website. Patrons should check these rates prior to booking as admission prices may vary from show to show.
Children under the age of 13 will be admitted to the Brisbane Jazz Club at the discretion of Management, and must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Management reserves the right to refuse entry.
